South African Safari
We spent the last of our days in South Africa on both self-driven and guided safaris in Kruger National Park in Limpopo and Mpumalanga provinces. What a blast. During our first visit to Kruger in 2004 we failed to catch even a glimpse of a single cat (though we heard the bone-chilling roar of a lion as a worked-up herd of impala burst onto the road.) This visit we saw five lions along with a host of other exotic and captivating animals from rhinos to Martial eagles.
I don’t pretend to be a wildlife photographer but of course the shutter was flapping at almost every sighting. Anyone want to guess how many giraffe and elephant photos I now have? Still, I thought I would share a handful of shots here. I can’t look at them enough.
